While Keith is still playing for the Edmonton Oilers, it’s a foregone conclusion that his number will be retired as one of, if not the best, defensemen to ever play for the Blackhawks.
Here are our best guesses as to which players could potentially be considered for that honor. He spent eight years in Chicago, scoring 186 goals with 229 assists for 415 points in 534 games. With Hossa, there shouldn’t be a question. The most recent jersey number controversy came with Steve Larmer, where fans have speculated if he’s number should be retired.
